Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a new type light panel.
Light panels are already known which are composed of one or more plates of transparent materials such as glass or plexiglass and which include one or more light sources concealed in the frame of the panel. Said plates generally bear on one or both sides of the indications obtained by gluing, etching or frosting. The light source or sources are placed at the rear of the plate or located opposite a section of the panel.
These devices have many drawbacks: devices using engraving impose a permanent registration mode; it is the same for partially frosted plates. As for the inscriptions obtained by gluing, they require for the updating of the panels the removal of the inscription, a cleaning of the residual glue and the laying of new inscriptions. Existing devices use light sources which are either placed at the rear of the plate at a sufficient distance to allow good distribution of the light. Therefore, these devices are bulky. Other panels use edge lighting. The lighting is carried out either by means of a fluorescent strip or by one or more bulbs housed in an enclosure provided with a parallel rectilinear slit and facing the edge. These systems have two major drawbacks: on the one hand, the realization is expensive and secondly, the size of the lighting device affects the aesthetics of the product and its maneuverability. Finally, in existing systems, the efficiency is low due to the dispersion of the rays.
The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the panel consists of a plate (1) made of transparent material, said plate comprising on at least one edge (4) several recesses (2) intended to receive one or more light sources (3), said sources being constituted by low-voltage filament bulbs or by neon-type bulbs. The plate (1) has on its edges a device for reflecting light rays consisting of a reflected material
The recesses (2) are constituted by cylindrical conical holes whose axes are substantially parallel to the larger faces (5) of the plate (1).
The plate (1) has on one or its two largest faces (5) a layer intended to prevent scratches. This transparent layer can be a paint, a resin or a varnish.
It is also possible to metallize the large face (5) opposite to the observer, so as to obtain additional light effects.
According to another embodiment, the metal coating (6) may include cutouts (7) thus allowing the electrical supply of the light sources (3).
Les fils (8) d'alimentation des sources lumineuses (3) viennent en contact sur le revêtement métallique (6).The metal coating (6) can advantageously extend beyond the upper part of the large faces (5) of the plate (1). The wires (8) supplying the light sources (3) come into contact with the metal covering (6).
A bar of insulating material (9) coming by pinching ensure good contact of the wires (8) with the metallic coating (6). The plate (1) is provided in one of its sections with an integrated connection plug (10) intended to be connected to the electrical supply of the panel. The contacts of this plug can advantageously be metallized in the mass of the panel.
According to another embodiment, connection holes can be provided on the upper edge of the panel to attach an autonomous power supply. These cards also allow the supply of a second panel.
According to the various embodiments of the invention, the device is provided with a frame and / or a support.
The device according to the invention makes it possible to reduce the manufacturing costs. The size of the panel is minimum.
The light rendering is improved. In addition, the two sides of the panel can be used either for document lighting or for writing with conventional means such as felt, chalk, grease pencil, or in printing, erasable or not. The panel can be used without danger, even by children, the power supply being at low voltage. The simplicity of the device allows the easy addition of decorative elements.
The panel according to the invention may be of nonlimiting interest in the fields of training, information, signage, advertising, toys, decoration.
