Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for keeping ready for use and applying a hydrated medication (hydrated clay) onto a part of the body of a patient to be treated. It comprises a flexible, airtight receptacle constituted by two sheets, of which one 1 can be peeled at the moment of use and of which the other 2 is kept during the external use, in order to avoid the medication drying and losing its effectiveness. The invention applies, generally, to devices for depositing an agent on the body with a medical purpose.

Description

 The present invention relates to a device for preserving ready for use and used for its application, an external medication (hydrated clay) intended to combat or calm an inflammation.

 The invention applies to treatments with hydrated clay and in particular green clay considered to be the most active for its anti-inflammatory properties and its high absorbent and adsorbent power.

 Clay, in clay treatment, is combined with water to obtain a water-clay mixture used cold, warm or hot, directly on the skin or flesh.

 The water-clay mixture requires a certain time of preparation which constitutes a drawback, the result of the application of the medication depending very much on the speed of intervention, hence the interest of a ready-made clay. In addition, a relatively large mass of clay is necessary for this preparation which dries quickly.

 The clay itself is generally available crushed in fragments or in powder which is then mixed with water.

 The present invention relates to a device making it possible to avoid the preparations before intervention and the drying out of the mixture obtained, before use as well as on the job and also offering ease of application of the medication (hydrated green clay) by participating to this app.

 According to the invention, the device for keeping pre to j. use and apply the medication (hydrated green clay) includes a flexible, watertight container, consisting of two sheets welded marginally, one of which can be peeled at the time of use and the other of which is kept during use outside, to prevent the clay from drying out and losing its effectiveness.

 The welded sheets are advantageously constituted by plastic films heat-sealed, the plastic used being a stable product and of good owratibilsté with the medication.

 The medication can receive on its surface intended to come into contact with the part of the body to be treated, a gauze or other light tissue.

 The flexible and waterproof container containing the medication (hydrated green clay) may be available in different formats (surface and thickness) depending on the treatment envisaged or the progress of this treatment.

Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will emerge from the description which follows made with reference to the appended drawing in which:
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a device according to the invention used in the example of a poultice;
- Figure 2 is a plan view from above of this device, one of the sheets and a portion of gauze are shown raised and reclined.

 In the embodiment shown a device according to the invention for keeping ready for use and applying hydrated green clay to a part of the body comprises a container, flexible, waterproof, consisting of two welded sheets, one of which (1) can be peeled and the other (2) can be used for the application of green clay on the part of the body to be treated.

 The two sheets are welded to each other marginally along a weld line (3) visible in Figure 2 both in its integrity and after peeling of one of the sheets.

 These sheets are preferably constituted by two films of heat-sealed plastic, which material is stable and of good compatibility with green clay.

 The hydrated green clay layer (4) between the two sheets can be supported by a substrate (5) of which a flap (5 A) provided all around the green clay layer, is visible in FIG. 2.

 A strip of gauze (6) covers the layer of clay to allow the device, which has become a sort of poultice, to be easily removed after use, while not affecting contact with the clay on the skin.

 The two sheets of plastic allow good preservation of the product and, in addition, to be able to place the "poultice" at the desired temperature, for example by soaking in hot water, before use, all of the device not yet open.

 The plastic sheet (2) which is part of the "poultice" and placed during outdoor use, prevents the clay from drying out and losing its effectiveness.

 The sheet (1) can be peeled, by tearing or by cutting along the weld line (3) joining the two sheets. In Figure 2 the tear (or cutting) is such that it leaves a double fringe of sheets (1 and 2). The tear (or cutting) can be total so that in this case there is no longer any fringe, a portion of sheet (2) however still remaining behind the hydrated clay layer.

 The poultice, formed by the outer sheet (2), the substrate (5), the layer of clay (4) and the gauze (6), is applied directly in contact with the part of the body to be treated and can be maintained in place with a loose bandage.

 The "poultice" remains active for several hours and is discarded after use.

 The sheet (2) constituting a part of the "poultice" is preferably black.

 It is clearly understood, finally, that the present invention has only been described and shown as a preferred example and that it will be possible to provide equivalences in its constituent elements without, however, departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (6)

 1 - Device for keeping ready for use and applying hydrated medication (hydrated green clay) to a part of the body of a patient to be treated, characterized in that it comprises a flexible, waterproof container, consisting of two sheets, one of which (1) can be peeled at the time of use and the other (2) of which is kept during outdoor use, to prevent the medication from drying out and losing its effectiveness.  2 - Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the two sheets are welded # marginally.  3 - Device according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the sheets consist of films of stable plastic and good compatibility with the medication.  4 - Device according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterized in that the medication contained in the sheets is supported by a flexible substrate (5) of a stable material and of good compatibility with the medication.  5 - Device according to any one of claims i to 4, characterized in that the medication (4) receives on its surface intended to come into contact with the part of the body to be treated, a gauze or other light tissue (6) .  6 - Device according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that it is available in different formats (surface and thickness) depending on the treatment envisaged or the progress of this treatment.
