Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for connecting electrical appliances, for example modems, domestic electrical appliances, etc., to a power supply. The device of the invention comprises a rigid one-piece casing provided with recesses, one of the recesses essentially comprising, on the underface, two tabs integral with (solidly attached to) the said casing, the said tabs being capable of being joined together by a means for fixing the said recesses, another recess comprising a shoulder capable of being anchored in the said component. Application to various manufacturing techniques, for example machining or moulding of synthetic material.

Description

 The present invention relates to the connection of electrical devices, for example, modems (demodulator modulators) of household appliances and the like, to a power source.

 It is well known that it is necessary to protect the device to be connected from overvoltages or other disturbances by means of fuses. It is also necessary to insert at the level of such connection devices electrical filters, chosen appropriately as a function of the device concerned in order to protect, the modem for example, from the harmful presence of certain disturbing frequencies. These various elements are usually inserted individually on a resin card, wired and connected via a switch.

 The present invention aims to provide these various functions and to group them by means of the same monobloc unit having all the characteristics of insulation and safety, advantages of assembly or disassembly and cost savings.

 The device of the invention consists essentially of a rigid case provided with recesses, one of the recesses essentially comprising on the underside a collar secured to said case, said collar being capable of being closed by a fixing means , said collar surrounding one of said components, another recess comprising a tongue capable of being anchored in another component by eneliquettage for example.

 Other advantages and characteristics will appear on reading the following description illustrated by drawings.

 Figure 1 is a general top view of the connection device according to the invention.

 Figure 2 is a sectional view along NN 'of the device of Figure 1.

 FIG. 3 is a bottom view of the connection device in FIGS. 1 and 2.

Referring to Figure 1, the connection device of the invention is formed of a one-piece housing 1 provided with various recesses to allow the insertion of the components, a recess A for the switch 2, two recesses C and C ' for fuses 3 and finally a recess B for an electric filter 4. An advantageous arrangement of the filter 4 consists in providing a configuration of the Ben cut> almost rectangular recess, for the filter 4, so as to keep the filter rigidly. A commercial switch 2 can also be inserted by snap-fastening in the recess A provided so as to make its actuation accessible from the front face. Each fuse 3 is inserted in a commercial cylinder 3a, made of synthetic material, shown in section on Figure i on the front face of each fuse 3 is adapted a cap 3b also in insulating material. A second fuse identical to the first is also provided in the recess C ′ of the housing 1 D Referring to FIG. 2, the molded monoblock of the invention is advantageously provided with shoulders 11 on either side, said shoulders allowing by crushing or snap-fastening to keep the monoblock 1 in pressure against the support whose location is represented by the line
MM 'drawn in dotted lines. This support, not shown, may, for example, be a printed circuit. The part of the monoblock 1 surrounding each fuse 3 is provided with a slot 12 in order to allow the fuse 3 to play its electrical role. In the vicinity of this slot 12, a tongue 13 of the monoblock 1 is inserted into a slot f of the cylinder 3a in order to fix it.

Such a structure facilitates the mounting of the various components in the one-piece casing 1 and above all gives the circuit excellent electrical insulation.

 The filter 4 is inserted into a recess B provided in the one-piece housing 1 according to a certain depth. The recess B is provided with a collar 14 on the rear face of said one-piece casing 1, said collar being integral with the casing 1.

A screw 15 closes this collar 14 as shown in FIG. 3 and securely holds said filter 4 in the one-piece housing 1.

 The electrical contact terminals accessible on the rear face of said box 1 allow wiring of the components. It will be noted that the assembly or disassembly of the components in the monobloc case 1 is extremely rapid. Advantageously, protuberances 10 surrounding the recesses C and C t are provided on the front face of the monobloc casing 1. These protrusions 10 shown in section in FIG. 2 make it possible to guide the protective cylinders 3a during the extraction or introduction of the fuses 3 while avoiding contact with the adjacent components.

 Figure 3 shows a bottom view of the one-piece device of the invention. In this representation, the terminals allowing the wiring of the components are visible. The collar 14 is in the closed position.

 The monobloc device of the invention allows the fixing and the insulation of the components by a simple snap-fastening, thus protecting the user.

 Such a box would also be possible by reversing fuses and switches in the same box.

 Such a one-piece case can be made of rigid synthetic material, for example by machining or by molding.

 Such a monobloc case facilitates the dismantling of the components.

CLAIM  1 - Device for connecting an electrical device to a power source for receiving components, characterized in that it is formed from a rigid housing provided with recesses, one of the recesses essentially comprising on the underside of a collar secured to said housing, said collar being capable of being closed by a fixing means, said collar surrounding one of said components, another recess comprising a tongue capable of being anchored in another component by snap-fastening for example.
