Abstract

The present invention relates to a chuck intended to fix a component of revolution provided with a central bore on the revolving part of a machine, and comprising a body 1 capable of being rotationally driven, fitted with at least one stop 4 for the component and having a projecting nose 2, segments 5 covering the nose 2 and whose external surface is cylindrical, the internal surface of the segments and the external surface of the nose 2 being shaped so that a longitudinal displacement of the segments on the nose is accompanied by a radial displacement of these segments, and a member 8 capable of exerting a force on the segments in order to displace them on the nose. According to the invention, the nose 2 has a polycylindrical profile and consists of the intersection of cylinders which are not coaxial with the chuck and which are equal in number to the segments, and the internal profile of the latter is also cylindrical, of a complementary shape to the corresponding face of the nose.
