Abstract

The gear case is pressure cast from a light alloy in two identical halves (1a,b). The finish achieved in the casting process is such that no further machining of the castings is necessary. Each half casing incorporates half housings (5) for the shaft bearings. The half-casings also incorporate half housings (7) for the right angle shaft. Two half holes (12), threaded, for the screwed plug (13), are also included as are the holes (9,11) for the clamping bolts and bushes (3) for the mounting bolts.
