Abstract

The disc can be immersed in liquid at the vessel bottom, and lifted by air injected to turn it into a float. This movement can also be aided by liquid injected at the bottom. This avoids the risk of damage by an excavator bucket to the vessel walls, which can be of plastics if desired.
