Abstract

The mortise and tenon joint has a tenon in the form of a retractable, expanding insert. The insert is made from two lengths cut from the same metallic section with the outer edges then notched so that the two pieces interlock when placed back-to-back. The lower edges have a cylindrical profile and house a hinge pin. They are held together by a spring clip. The assembly is inserted into a slot in one of the components and the expanding screws is introduced through a side hole. Description

 The present invention relates to mechanical parts used for the assembly of profiles, panels, or other elements, fixed embedded in an element and ensuring the fixing with another by clamping in a female part which it comprises, for example groove of a streamlined.

 On the one hand, the known devices of this kind, installed in a very flush fashion, have an overhanging projection: the male part which will be inserted for tightening, as said above.  The assembly piece according to the invention eliminates these drawbacks.

Indeed: On the one hand it is made from two parts of the same profile, made complementary by simple symmetrical cuts and nested one inside the other. This keeps a thickness compatible with the above requirements and facilitates manufacturing, the two parts, of the same profile, being manufactured with the same tool (for stamping, molding, spinning, or other), then cut as required. .

 On the other hand, built-in installation, it is retractable in its housing, without any overhang. Therefore, it allows the front insertion, then the fixing, after leaving the male part, of an element, between two others already fixed, without the need for space (plate 1/6).

 The two moving parts of the assembly part are made up of the same profile, either a metal or plastic profile, or a stamped sheet, etc. This profile (plate 2/6) is cut to the desired length, which will become the height of the connecting piece.
