Abstract

The fixing comorises a mounting block (1) flanked by a pair of parallel flanges (2,3). A pulley (6) is rotatably mounted between the upper ends of the flanges with a space (8) between the pulley and the block for the passage of the tapes securing sock or sleeve to the stump. The block is supported at its lower end by a stirrup (9) which has a threaded lower tip (12). The tip is screwed onto the end of a series of vertical supporting rods which run up the side of the prosthesis and are connected at the lower end to a stirrup into which the prosthetic foot fits.

Description

 The object of the invention relates to a prosthetic fitting device with removable elements.

 It is intended to facilitate the placement of prostheses for amputees of the lower limbs and more particularly of the thigh.

 Until now, the various techniques used for fitting prostheses either with a tubular jersey, or calfskin bands, etc., have not been satisfactory. In fact, the arteritic patient had to execute a physical effort practically impossible to carry out, all the more so since the user is most often an elderly person, not very resistant and tired.

It was therefore most often necessary the assistance of a third person to carry out the extraction through the orifice located at the lower base of the bearing part of the prosthesis, of the lining enveloping the stump during its introduction into its housing.

 The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks by reversing the tensile force exerted on the hat or the bands, while allowing the user to stand practically upright during this operation which can currently be normally performed in the standing position so to exert the main effort using the trunk while maintaining a stable position avoiding any loss of balance.

 It is made up of a support with removable rod wedging on the foot and comprising at its upper part a frame with pulley located at the height of the extraction orifice practiced at the lower part of the prosthesis.

 Figure 4 is a schematic view of the operation of the apparatus.

 The device consists of a mount 1, fig 1 and 2, on which the flanges 2, 3 are fixed, by bolts 4, 5. These flanges support the pulley 6 rotating freely on its shaft 7. Sufficient space 8 is provided at the bottom of the pulley.

 This mount 1 supports a stirrup 9 held by the bolts 10,11, and is integral with the threaded end piece 12.

 The rod sectors 13, 14, 15, fig 3 and 4, are provided at their upper and lower ends with threads, forming screws 16 and nuts 17 so as to form a support comprising at the base a toe clip 18.

 The upper part of this rod surmounted by the mount 1, reaches the height of the base orifice 19 of the prosthesis 21 receiving the stump 22.

 The device is compact and removable.

 I1 allows the amputee to feel safe everywhere knowing that at the slightest boredom, outside his home, he can always put on his prosthesis 21.

 The pulley 6 allows the cap or the bands surrounding the stump 22 Extending by the traction wires introduced through the orifice 19 and protruding, to have a minimum of friction at the outlet of the mouth of the prosthesis, which reduces tensile force.

 These bands 23 have the particularity of not being extensible so as to create no loss of energy over the length of the mouth. They are also extracted one by one which requires a reduced pulling force, arrow A.

 Depending on the diameter of the mouthpiece of the prosthesis five to six bands are necessary for the maximum performance of the device. The right bipodal balance ensures rational use of the pulley 6.

 The attachment to the foot 24 allows the patient to perfect his balance at the time of traction and above all makes it possible to secure the device which is self-sufficient.

 Despite the progress made in prosthetics of the lower limbs, that of the shoe remained to be accomplished, which is essential for the independence and social reintegration of the thigh amputee.

 However, the shapes, dimensions and arrangements of the various elements may vary within the limit of the equivalents, as indeed the materials used for their manufacture, without thereby changing the general design of the invention which has just been described.

 This is how this device can be installed in a fixed position.

 10 Prosthesis fitting device with removable elements facilitating the extraction of the cap or bands surrounding the stump during its introduction into the mouthpiece and ensuring its stabilized positioning characterized by a frame (1) supporting at its upper part a pulley (6 ) and connected at its lower part by a yoke (9) with threaded end (12) to a support rod with removable elements (13, 14, 15) whose lower end is secured to a toe clip (18).  20 Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the frame (1) is integral with two flanges (2, 3) supporting a pulley (6) freely rotating on its axis (7) and having at its lower part a space ( 8) for the passage of the bands and caps surrounding the stump (22).  30 Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the lower part of the frame (1) supports a bracket (9) provided with a threaded end piece (12) for fixing the supports (13, 14, 15).  40 Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the removable support consists of rods (13, 14, 15) each provided at their upper part with a thread (16) and at their lower part with a nut ( 17) while the lower sector is secured to a toe clip (18).  50 Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the height of the removable support and the frame (1) reaches the height of the orifice (19) of the prosthesis (21).
