Abstract

The counter flow heat exchanger is for the production of clean hot water in central heating boilers. A cylindrical case surrounds a bundle of longitudinal pipes. These connect a circular lower collector to a similar upper one. Water to be heated flows through these tubes. The cylindrical case is cut in two by a diametral partition (11) leaving a passage (12) between the two semi-chambers. Primary hot water enters by a pipe (8) in one semi-chamber and rises between longitudinal tubes (3), through which flows secondary water to be heated. This then drops to the outlet pipe (9).
