Abstract

Process for the prodn. of paving slabs comprises (a) forming a first mix of white cement, sand, gravel, plasticiser/water reducer, synthetic resin and water, and casting the mixt. into a mould so as to leave a free space at the top; (b) forming a second mix of white cement, a colourant, a water reducer, synthetic resin and water, and filling the free space in the mould with the mix; (c) allowing the material to dry and demoulding the slabs and (d) abrading the top surface of the slab comprising the second mix. Pref. the plasticiser/water reducer is a polyethylene oxide or fatty alcohol and the synthetic resin is a styrene butadiene resin. The slabs have a smooth bright surface.
