Abstract

The parent patent concerns a mobile plant unit for the prodn. of methane gas etc. by fermentation of cellulosic waste such as stable litter, manure etc. the waste is advanced through a fermentation chamber by a conveying screw. The chamber extends between a gravity loading hopper and an upwardly inclined discharge channel. The conveyor screw is now installed with its longitudinal axis in a horizontal plane in order to improve the stability of the plant unit. Pref. hot water is circulated through passages in the conveyor screw blades so that heat is distributed evenly throughout the fermenting waste.
