Abstract

Hairbrush with metallic bristles has the tips of the bristles enclosed in a small bead of resin. Pref. the beads are of epoxy resin, opt. covered, pref. applied by dipping before or after the panel supporting the bristles is mounted on the brush handle. The ends of the bristles are less sharp. Used for flat, convex or cylindrical brushes. The resin tips may be heat hardened.

Description

The present invention relates to hair brushes.

We know that to be effective, it is necessary that the hair brushes have stiff bristles. However, such straight hair, especially if the person using the brush has short hair, may injure the scalp, or at least cause painful and / or unpleasant use. These inconveniences are even more marked when the brush has metal pins instead of bristles.

The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback.

To this end, according to the invention, a brush with stiff bristles or with metal pins is remarkable in that said bristles or pins have balls at their free end.

Thus, said balls give the brushes according to the invention exceptional styling comfort and eliminate the unpleasant feeling of scratching of the scalp, which is particularly sensitive with brushes provided with metal pins or pins.

In addition, said balls, in addition to styling, allow a pleasant massage of the scalp, activating the blood circulation thereof and therefore participating in the vigor of the hair. Finally, the balls, especially when they are colored, give the brushes a pleasant and cheerful appearance and aesthetics.

Preferably, said balls are made of an epoxy adhesive and they are arranged at the end of bristles or pins by dipping said end in a liquid or viscous preparation of such an adhesive. Thus, thanks to the surface tension forces, a ball forms at said end of the bristles or pins. Then, the balls thus formed are solidified by drying with rise in temperature.

 Advantageously, the epoxy adhesive is colored, for example without organic pigments; thus, the color of the balls can be harmonized with that of the brush mount.

The balls at the ends of the bristles or pins can be formed before or after mounting them on the frame. However, as far as possible, it is preferable that the balls are formed after assembly.

EXAMPLE I
Creation of a pneumatic brush with metal pins.

It is known that pneumatic brushes of this type comprise an elastic and convex cap, mounted on a frame and pierced with a plurality of holes through which pins pass. To make a pneumatic brush with metal pins according to the invention, one begins by mounting identical pins in a known manner through the elastic piece, intended to form the convex cap after mounting it on the frame of the brosSe.

Then, when said pins are secured to said elastic piece, the latter is held flat by a suitable support, so that the free ends of said pins are all in the same plane. With this planar conformation of the elastic part, the free ends of the pins are immersed in a preparation of epoxy adhesive so that a ball forms at each of said ends, when these are removed from the preparation. Then, the epoxy adhesive is polymerized and secured to said ends by introducing the elastic piece provided with these pins in an oven for a few tens of minutes. After polymerization of the balls, the elastic piece is mounted on the brush mount to become the convex pneumatic cap.

EXAMPLE II
Realization of a cylindrical brush.

On a cylindrical mount, a plurality of rigid bristles, for example made of polyamide, are mounted in known manner, so that the free ends of these bristles are distributed over a cylindrical surface, coaxial with said mount. Then, the free ends of the bristles are successively dipped in a preparation of epoxy adhesive, giving the brush a rotational movement around its axis. After formation of the balls, these are polymerized and joined to the bristles as indicated in Example I.

EXAMPLE III
Making a brush of any shape.

 The different bristles intended for the brush are prepared and a ball of epoxy glue is formed at their end which will be opposite the frame by soaking and polymerization, as indicated above. Next, the frame is poached with said bristles thus provided with their balls.

1.- Brush with stiff bristles or with metal pins, characterized in that said bristles or pins have balls at their free end. 2.- Brush according to claim 1, characterized in that said balls are colored. 3.- Brush according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that said balls are made of epoxy resin. 4.- Method for producing a brush according to claim 3, characterized in that the free ends of the bristles or pins are soaked in a liquid or viscous preparation of epoxy resin, after guoi the balls which are formed are polymerized and secured of said ends by raising the temperature. 5.- Method according to claim 4, characterized in that the balls are formed and solidified before mounting of said bristles or pins on the brush mount. 6.- Method according to claim 4, characterized in that the balls are formed and solidified after mounting of said bristles or pins on the brush mount.
