Abstract

The educational game uses sufficient playing cards for a conventional game and an equal number of cases, with at least one transparent face. There are also an equal number of cards on which there is a general knowledge question at the top and its answer at the bottom. To play the game a playing card and a question card are placed in each case, with the question hidden. The playing cards are then used in the usual way but each player must answer the question before playing the card.

Description

The present invention relates to an educational game comprising playing cards in sufficient number to allow a conventional game.

The object of the invention is to give such a game an educational character and a greater interest by obliging the players to show their culture or their knowledge to win.

This game is of interest to adults who wish to develop their general knowledge, as well as to children, to whom educators can teach forbidding subjects through a series of questionnaires adapted to each situation.

To do this, the game according to the invention is characterized in that it also consists of an at least equal number of cases having at least one transparent face to receive the cards, and of at least a number equal boxes suitable for being placed in the cases on the back of the cards, each box being provided on one side with a question taken from a questionnaire of general knowledge or relating to any subject, educational for example.

Advantageously, each carton is provided with a question on each of its faces.

The answers to the questions can be placed on a slip made available to an arbitrator, but according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, each box is provided, below the question, with the answer to this question .

It is noted that thus the players will be able to indulge in a conventional card game by using the cards placed in the cases so as to be able to receive, on their back, one of the boxes whose question is hidden.

During the game, each player must, either to Play his card, or to collect his fold, answer the question he will discover by partially or completely extracting the cardboard from the pocket and can then verify that his answer is satisfactory by extracting the card completely if the answer is below the question, or addressing the referee if the answer is on a slip.

The rules of the game could also provide that the points constituted by the tricks won are only deducted when, at the end of the game, the player who has won the tricks is able to answer the questions hidden behind the cards of the tricks.

It goes without saying of course that for a deck of cards accompanied by a single set of cases, it is possible to provide a whole series of cardboard sets relating for example, one to geography, the other to a living language, the third in the animal world, etc ...

An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings in which
- Figure 1 shows three components of a game, side by side; and
- Figure 2 shows, in section, the elements together, the transverse scale being enlarged for understanding the drawing.

FIG. 1 shows a case E which can be produced in a conventional manner in a transparent plastic material heat-welded on three sides, a cutout D being provided on the fourth side to facilitate the extraction of the cards and cartons.

The reference C designates a card from a traditional game, which is here the ace of hearts, while the reference Q designates a cardboard of the same size, size which allows the introduction of the card and the cardboard in the case.

In the example chosen, cardboard Q is divided into an upper part, occupying approximately half of the surface, on which a question relating to the animal world is printed, and a lower part on which the answer is printed.

To use the game according to the invention, each card C is placed in a case E, then each carton Q is placed in one of the cases so that the question and the answer are on the hidden side of the carton.

One of the assemblies obtained is shown in FIG. 2, the three elements being shown much further apart than in reality so as to better show how they are arranged.

The deck of cards thus obtained is used in the traditional way.

For example, it can be played by four people, each playing for themselves, without advantage. At the end of the traditional game, a winning point will only be won by the cards picked up by the player when he has answered the question printed on the card after having half removed the card, verification being done by completely removing the card.

The rule may also provide that, as the game progresses, each player must first answer the question before being able to play his card, or must answer the question before picking up the trick.

Naturally, for a set of type C cards and a set of type E cases, it is possible to provide a whole series of cardboard sets which can also be printed on both sides, in which case naturally, to keep interest in the game, it is preferable that one of the faces of the case is made of non-transparent material.
