Abstract

The combined lighting unit has a fluorescent tube and an incandescent bulb. The bulb replaces the ballast for the fluorescent tube for starting the purposes and for subsequent dimming. Pref. a 20 watt fluorescent tube and a 40 watt incandescent bulb are connected in series. The tube is rated for 110 volts and the bulb for 220 volts, so that the consumption is 20 watts. The lighting unit is economical in operation and cheap to mfr. The 20 watt starting energy is not wasted as in the case where a 20 watt bulb and 20 watt ballast are used in conjunction with the fluorescent tube.

Description

L'invention a pour but d'associer deux types d'éclairage différents
a) lampes à incandescence,
b) lampes fluorescentes.
The invention aims to combine two different types of lighting
a) incandescent lamps,
b) fluorescent lamps.

In the classic assembly of a fluorescent tube, there is a choke and a ballast.

20 W (tube) + 20 w (ballast) = 4Q W.
Take the case of a 20 watt fluorescent tube: the ballast also consumes 30 watts. There is therefore a real consumption of
20 W (tube) + 20 w (ballast) = 4Q W.

P = UI d'où 20 W.
In the new fixture, there is a 20 W fluorescent tube and a 220 volt (40 W) incandescent lamp and no choke. The purpose of the incandescent lamp is to replace the ballast because at startup it turns on the tube and then goes on standby, that is to say that the 220 volt (40 W) lamp is found in series with the fluorescent tube so 110 volts
P = UI hence 20 W.

This energy of 20 W is not, as in the first case, lost with the ballast.

The so-called serial assembly combines the two different types of lamp.

Advantages: 10 / energy saving
20 / the cost price of the device is lower.
