Abstract

The first-aid stretcher allows a patient to be picked up from the ground or a bed without lifting, by tilting him progressively onto it. It comprises a frame formed by lengthwise and transverse (3) beams combined with lower struts (6). The latter act as skids at a lower level than the remainder of the frame. One arm of each of the skids can have a straight extension (12) beyond the frame, bent over at the end (13) to form a pick-up scoop and ramp, down which the patient slides onto the supporting surface of the stretcher.
