Abstract

The bed warmer uses an electric resistance heating element with a motor driven fan blowing air over it to heat air which is passed through a long tube placed between the covers of a bed. In addition a second tube supplies air to vents which are attached to the wall or bed head and direct the warm air towards the face of the sleeper who is thus able to breathe warm air in an unheated room. For safety a low voltage, low current thermostat is used to regulate the temp. of the air in the bed by operating an electromagnet which moves a vane to divert air to the wall outlets so the flow of warm air for breathing is uninterrupted when the undercover heating is reduced.
