Abstract

Corrosion-resistant sheet material is made from a layer of glass fibres impregnated with epoxy or polyester resin and coated with a blend of a powdered mineral silicate and phenolic resin. For enclosure or containment of aggressive chemicals, other than strongly oxidative acids, at service temperatures up to about 220 deg.C, i.e. above operating temperatures for conventional polyolefins but less than those which justify the performance/cost of fluorocarbon polymers or refractory metals, e.g. for use in tanneries, smoke ducts, heat exchangers etc. The composite panels may be laid up around an internal core of steel, plastic, rubber or wax, pref. are post-cured at e.g. 80 deg.C/24h.

Description

TITLE OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the manufacture of an anti-corrosion material.

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The material makes it possible to carry out the storage operations for transferring aggressive products at high temperature, without deterioration and denaturation of its constituent elements.

ETAT DE LA TECHNIQUE ANTERIEURE. STATE OF THE PRIOR ART.

The range of materials, known to date, capable of withstanding aggressive media at temperatures above I50, is restricted and of very high cost, eg Titanium, Tantalum.

In the temperature range from 100 to 150 ', thermoplastics and coatings are used to the maximum of their characteristics.

In many cases, they suffer deterioration such as detachment, change of state, implosion, and can in no case be used under vacuum.

Exposé de l'invention. Statement of the invention.

The material which is the subject of the invention makes it possible to avoid the drawbacks mentioned above.

Composition of the material
The material is the homogeneous association of 2 elements sold separately. An external support made of polyester laminate that epexy, fiberglass, anticorrosive, self-extinguishing.

An adherent core obtained by mixing a silicate mineral powder and a judiciously proportioned solution of phenolic resin.

CARACTERISTIQUES TECHNIQUE. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS.

The marriage of the aforementioned elements makes it possible to obtain the following performances.

- maximum temperature 220
- resists corrosion, associated with the temperature conditions in most products except for products based on nitric and chromic acid.

- mechanical resistance obtained by the variation of thick Day of the polyester support.

- vacuum resistance to 2200 without any deformation or separation of the core.

-FABRICATION DU MATERIAU.- MANUFACTURE OF THE MATERIAL.

Realization of a polyester support reinforced with glass fibers by contact or by filament winding.

Production of an internal core in steel, plastic, elastomer, paraffin.

Préparation du mélange sus-cité.  Preparation of the above-mentioned mixture.

- Pouring of the mixture produced by known conventional methods.

Unmolding of the part
- Baking of the part obtained by steaming at 800 for 24 hours.
