Abstract

A large number of samples are examined automatically by rotation of an assembly of measuring cells in front of the light source. A measuring cell is mounted on a platform rotating about a centre point. The cell comprises a single moulded transparent section whose upper section has inclined walls. The long walls have radii to suit the rotational radius of the platform. The base of the upper section has four tubes extending from it in which liquid samples are contained. This ensures that the receptacle tubes are maintained at a constant distance w.r.t. the luminous source. The centering and positioning faces of the cell comprise two truncated faces having a common vertical axis with the axis of rotation of the tray.
