Abstract

The electromagnetic brake has a magnetic core (1) and an armature (3) with three or more through-holes arranged symmetrically around its periphery. Set screws (6) fit into these holes and screw into corresponding threaded holes (7) in the core. Fixing screws (11) coaxial with the set screws define the positions of the set screws. The core is toroidal and has a slot on one side to hold the excitation coil (2). The armature is disc-shaped and coupled to the core. The armature is acted on by springs (4)located in the core and carries a peripheral friction ring (5).
