Abstract

The appts. has a balance comprising a base (27) on the ground and supporting a vertical square section tube (25). A telescopic section (26) of the tube enables the height to be adjusted for a support frame (1, 19, 28) for a working platform (29). Roller bearings are used to reduce friction and allow the position of the working platform to be set by a handwheel. The load is measured by a pointer (6) against a scale (10) on a foot (17). A counterweight (16) on an extension element (12) permits adjustment of compensation for the packet weight. The device enables an operator to weigh and prepare packets of fruits or vegetables to a specific weight. This obviates the need to work at a separate table with consequent time savings.
