Abstract

The gum cleaning instrument comprises a dental handpiece and a 6mm long tapered end which has a working top at its distal end. The tip is bullet-shaped with an overall length of between 3 and 4mm. The max. diameter is approx. 1m. The surface of the tip is covered with abrasive grains which have dia. of between 0.03 and 0.2mm. The instrument is particularly for cleaning the peripheral areas of prosthetic fittings.
