Abstract

Adhesive anti-halation compsn. for making metal-backed photopolymeric printing forms comprises (a) 35-45 wt.% of an adhesive consisting of a 1:1 (wt.) copolymer of a diphenylol-propane epoxy resin with a mol. wt. of 400-1000; (b) 10-15 wt.% of an iron oxide or chromium oxide antihalation component and (c) 55-40 wt.% of a solvent mixt. of 1:1 (vol.) ethanol/acetone. Prods. are useful in prodn. of photopolymeric printing forms used in relief printing on flat bed and rotary presses letterset and offset printing presses, etc. Compsn. give high adhesion of printing elements to metal supports (up to 300-320 kgf/cm2) and absorb 80-90% actinic radiation in UV region, thus improving quality of the photopolymeric printing forms.
