Abstract

The hang glider (1) is provided with a wing (2) comprising wing ribs (3a-h) mounted on tubular spars (4) which can be rotated in the same or opposite directions for control purposes. The central ring root rib (3a) is stationary, intermediate ribs (3b-g) are free to rotate relative to the spars and wing tip ribs (3h) are secured to the outer ends of the spars so as to rotate with them. Yokes (23) secured to the spars are connected via control wires (20) respective bushes axially slidable on an inner tube (16) and having external helical cam grooves of opposite hand engaged by pegs in an outer tube (17). Lateral movement of tube by the pilot causes differential warping of the wings for lateral control. Rotation of tube causes symmetrical warping for pitch control.
