Abstract

The bottles are packed by laying on their side in rows end for end. The packing consists of a ring with a central hole (8) which can be slipped over the neck of each bottle. The outside of the ring has four concave curved sides (9) of equal curvature to the bottle body curvature and able to support a bottle on the top side and along the side. The packing rings have sufficient thickness to prevent rocking along the neck of the bottle. The rings may also be joined side by side for packing continuous rows.
