Abstract

The receptacle comprises a deep tray (5) and a cover (6). The cover has an entrance (7) and the tray is lined with a plastics film (2) before being filled with litter. A baffle (8) fits under the door to prevent the spread of litter when the animal scratches. The sides (1) of the plastic film are laid over the edges (3) of the tray rims and held by being trapped between the base and the hinged cover. The hinge has double pivots (10,11) to permit easy opening for cleaning. Sand litter is kept on a shelf (9) in the cover.
