Abstract

The projector (1) and screen (2) are for projecting high quality images and the screen has a concave curve giving a uniform luminance greater than 40-50 units. The spectators are situated in a zone (3) from which each views the screen from an angle preferably between 45-90 degrees giving a clear view of the whole screen by eye and head movements. The screen diffuses the light directionally and has a visually acceptable luminance intensity at every point. The ratio between that at the edge of the screen and the centre is greater than 0.5 in a solid angle of about 40 degrees.
