Abstract

The rocking beam has an upright lifting fork at each end, being particularly for insertion under the axle of a broken-down vehicle to allow towing. Each end section (3) of the beam (1) has a tubular portion accommodating a boss on the fork, and is in the form of an open housing (11) with two lengthwise vertical side-plates (4,5) and a vertical end plate (12). The tubular portion protrudes through the open housing and its external diameter is less than the distance between the side-plates, so that it can be adjusted and locked between two end positions.
