Abstract

A wall fixing bolt is designed to facilitate the attaching of objects to walls of relatively soft material such as cellular concrete. This object is achieved by using a wedge of rectangular cross-section with a central hole to receive a tubular insert. The wedge is inserted into a matching hole in the wall so that its large end is flush with the wall surface. Rows of parallel ridges are formed on the tapered surfaces near the large end. The tubular element can have a hole inclined to the axis which connects the central hole with the external surface. A nail driven into the central hole is then bent as it emerges from the hole and penetrates the surrounding concrete to form a firm fixing.
