Abstract

The laser is moulded from plastics and has two half-jaws (4) hinged (5) together at the rear by a thin integral plastics web. The inner surface of each jaw, facing each other, is flat to provide a neat fit when the jaws are closed together. Each jaw has a half-recess (7) moulded into its flat surface, the same shape as the sealed end(2) of the ampoule (1). When the jaws close over this end, a collar (8) fits around the ampoule neck.
