Abstract
The infra-red camera has high resolution and has a piezoelectric sweep system which controls a vibrating mirror. A single photodetector sweeps several lines of the object and the resolution of this system is limited only by the diffraction. An infra-red camera consists of a Cassegrain telescope (10) with a mounting tube (11) in which a primary mirror (12) is fixed. A secondary mirror (13) is mounted on a spider web mounting (16) in the centre (15). A photocell (17) sensitive to infra-red is mounted at the focal point. The secondary mirror is moved in perpendicular axes by two lever systems each comprising a piezoelectric column (18) and articulating lever (20). These columns are excited by amplifiers (27, 37) from LF generators (26, 36) whose outputs are applied to a screen (31) with the amplified (29) signal from the photocell.
