Abstract
The heating device is for a box for preserving and consists of a mixture of chemicals, contained in a metal box encased in plaster. The chemicals are a mixture of metal powder and a reducing agent, preferably aluminium powder and ferrous oxide, which when ignited react exothermally. They are ignited by a magnesium ribbon or another similar metal, passing from the interior of the box to the exterior of the plaster case. The device is fixed to the base of the box and the plaster wall adjacent to the base is thinner than the other walls.
