Abstract
The semi-submersible platform consists of a floating structure (1) which supports a submerged tube (2) to collect the cold water from the depth of the ocean. The platform also carries two power modules (3), each having an evaporator (15) and a condenser (12) and a cold water pump (14) and hot water pump (16). Each module is connected to a turbo-generator. The collector tube is mounted flexibly on the platform, which has a deck (6) and vertical support columns (5). The tube is suspended from a set of cables depending from the deck. The concrete base of the structure is cellular and supports the vertical columns.
