Abstract

Wire cable assembly comprises a strand of core wires conferred with twist in opposite directions simultaneously. An outer layer of wires is continuously fed on to the strand with twist direction opposite to the direction of the final twisting of the central strand. In mfr. of electric cables, a cylindrical shape is preferred in order to limit the quantity of insulation applied. Arrangement provides a cylindrical cable having crossed layers of wires in a single high-speed operation.
