Abstract

Electrically resistive compsns. are described of compsn. A1-yA'yFe1-xMxO3-z where 0y1; 0.=x1;0=z=0.5; A and A' are cation capable of occupying octahedral lattice sites and M a cation capable of occupying octahedral sites (6-coordinating, or 5 or 4 coordinating when oxygen vacancies occur in the octahedron), with the restriction that y0-5 when A' is Ca2+. A may be selected from Na+; K+, Rb+, Bi3+, Y3+ and Ln3+; A' from Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+ and Pb2+ and M from 3 d transition elements, Al3+, Ga3+, In3+, Mg2+, Nb5+, Ta5+, Ti +, Zr4+, W6+, Ru3+ to Ru5+ and Rh3+. The compsns have high conductivity and sufficiently high m. pts. for them to be used at high temps. yet remain stable in air or excess O2 pressure.
