Abstract

The device is for instantaneously displaying the cost of a telephone call and comprises a microprocessor, a read only memory and a random access memory, a keyboard and a display unit. The device programme is stored in the ROM while the RAM stores temporarily information relating to the call. The time content is provided by a quartz oscillator. The user first operates the keyboard to set the call distance or country and once connected sets the device in operation. The cost is automatically calculated and displayed. The basic charge rate may be varied or the cost of a number of successive calls totalled by the device.
