Abstract

The machine is esp. for simultaneously square-cutting the two sides of a pile of veneer units, veneer cut width being extensively adjustable. A bed slides on horizontal guide bars (2) on the frame (1) which has a top cross-piece (19) bearing two vertical-axis pressure cylinders (20) activating a device for holding veneer sheets down (21). A vertically adjustable panel fixing element (12) is mounted on the rear of the bed. A blade (15) near this is hinged to the frame, and piston-and-cylinder (14)-activated to carry out a simultaneous turning and linear cutting movement. A second blade (29) is hinged to the cross-piece, and activated by another piston-and-cylinder unit (26) via an angular bent arm.
