Abstract

A plug of a product is taken by a hollow sleeve which cuts through the product. The plug is cut with the required section to obtain a better sample than bcutting and storing all the products during its travel. A square section sleeve has sides (11, 14) with cutting edges (11a, 12a). Flat shutters (15, 16) are positioned to pivot to close the lower end of the sleeve. Spaces in opposite faces of the sleeve house the shutters when they are open. Discs (24-27) on the lateral sides of the sleeves are located in openings (20-23) which provide support for their rotation. The discs are firmly attached to the shutters and eccentrically placed knobs (30, 30A) are operated by an inner sleeve (33) to rotate them and thereby open or close the shutters.
