Abstract

The port allows the transfer of dangerous materials between a container (1) and an enclosure (2). The enclosure has a movable cover (8). The container has a removable lid (3). Safety interlocks prevent removal of the container from the enclosure when the cover does not close the port and prevents opening of the cover in the absence of a container. The container (1) engages lugs (6) rotating in a groove (7) on the enclosure. The cover operates by turning a ring (14) camming pin (15) and cover from the port and moving the extension (30) away from the rocking lever (27).
