Abstract

The dental articulator has a main supporting framework comprising two fixed, bent arms which are bifurcated at their upper ends and held apart by a strut. The angle of the slot between the birucations is equal to the natural condylar angle. The two cast-holders are mounted on an adjustable fitting fixed to the two limbs of the support frame. The upper holder is mounted on a universal joint on a horizontal shaft running between the two forks. The lower holder is fixed in rotary joint clamped between two adjustable jaws. The arrangement ensures that the two casings can be moved precisely into the correct relative positions.
