Abstract

The parent patent described mfr. of tyre bead reinforcement comprising a hollow metal profile of polygonal form braced across one diagonal in a direction within 60 degrees of the plane of the bisector of the angle (gamma) between the wheel rim seat and the edge of the wheel rim. This addn describes an alternative structure for the reinforcement in which the diagonal brace is a separate metal profile having its edges located in a corner channel profile or on a rib profile on the inner surface of the hollow profile. No specific advantages are claimed, though mfr. and/or assembly of the reinforcement may be simplified by using a loose brace which is located laterally.
