Abstract

The secateur has a rigid body with a grip (1) designed for holding in one hand. A gap is provided at one side, the end furthest from the handle forming a fixed blade (2, 3). The nearest end has a housing (13) for a piston (5) carrying the moving blade (6, 7). The piston head (14) has a spring (8) between it and the housing cover plate (15) and cutting is affected by pressing a button (12) on the handle. An external compressed air supply (11) closes the blades and, on releasing the button, the spring returns the moving blade to the start position.
