Abstract
The clock generator, for MOS circuits, produces two internal non-overlapping clock pulse sequences from one external clock pulse sequence. The first internal sequence is the same as the external sequence. The second internal sequence is generated by a sawtooth waveform oscillator driven by the external sequence. The sawtooth signal is zero when the pulse state is '1' and increases when the pulse state is '0'. The slope of the sawtooth can be varied such that the sawtooth signal reaches a given max. independently of the period of the external sequence. The second internal clock pulses are produced by a flip-flop(9) whose first input receives the external clock pulses and whose second input receives the sawtooth signal. The flip-flop is set by the external pulses' trailing edges and reset by the sawtooth when its voltage is below the given maximum.
