Abstract

A flat sheath open at both ends with windows on its front and rear faces, together with a rule carrying a series of scales on both faces which can be indexed relatively to the windows, form a device by which a person having consumed alcohol can determine his or her alcohol blood content. The scales detail the weights of men and women, the quantities of alcohol consumed on an empty stomach or with a meal, which correspond to the legal maximum of alcohol in the blood. Units of consumption, -beer, aperitifs, etc. are detailed and there are scales by which, given a predetermined excessive level of alcohol in the blood, the length of time required for the body to reduce the level below the legal limit, can be ascertained. The device thus makes it possible to determine easily and accurately whether or not one would be breaking the law by driving.
