Abstract

The modular transportable apartment (A) may be utilised to constitute a motel. It has a rectangular form in plan, a flat roof (21) with a longitudinal drainage fall, and a built on access vestibule (12) at one end. The vestibule may form part of a covered way to other apartments and allows access to the vestibules of a parallel or a perpendicular adjacent apartment. The roof and the floor may cantilever out at the high end to be connected by corner posts (1) spanned by a hand rail (16). Typical combined apartment layouts may inc. chevron and stellar forms, in addn. to ring layouts with the vestibules pointing outwards.
