Abstract

The reflector strip includes a fluorescent area for the rear of heavy road vehicles. The strip is strong, can be easily attached to all types of surface and can have a variety of lengths. The strip consists of a two compartment backplate preferably of a pressed out methacrylate (10). The division between reflecting and fluorescent surfaces is longitudinal, the reflecting area (3) carrying one or two parallel reflector strips. These are ultrasonically welded to triangular section narrow ridges (5) rising from the inside of the back plate. The ridges can be at different levels such that the reflecting surfaces can be split and inclined to improve the reflective effect. Holes at intervals through the methacrylate (21) provide screwed fixing points to the vehicle.
