Abstract

The barrier for roads protects nearby houses from traffic noise. It has a central concrete section screen embanked with earth. The central screen (10) is made up of alternate cells (12A, 12B) forming a sinusoidal horizontal section, the width of the cells is equal to their depth and the full height of the barrier is one, to one and a half, times the depth of the cells. The cells are placed on a thin bed or mortar, joined together and filled with earth (TA, TB) with an alternate inclined slope.
