Abstract

The bone-fixing plate is used in conjunction with bone-screws to set fractures. The metal plate has four holes receiving the screws, two for each side of the break. On the side of the plate which is in contact with the bone are set of inclined, curved teeth which anchor the plate and oppose any relative longitudinal movement between the bone fragments. The teeth are formed by partially gouging out a chip of metal from the surface of the plate, finishing the edges and orienting it as required.
