Abstract

The composite kitchen unit comprises a double sink (4), a working top (3), and a multi-plate cooking hob (5) into a single horizontally elongated chest. The side walls (1, 2) of the chest extend above to support an overhead canopy (11) with an air-extractor and a flue (19). The taps (29) are mounted on one of the side wall (2) extensions with the water services incorporated in a panel to the rear. A beam (12) may span the extended side walls (1, 2), aligns on the longitudinal centre line of the working top (3), and locates at mid-height between the top (3) and the canopy (11). The beam (12) supports a panel (25) with switches and controls for the cooker, and extractor and lighting units. A lighting unit (26) may be mounted on the soffit of the beam (6 to 9) may be incorporated below the working top (3).
