Abstract
The connector is for integrated circuits with dual in-line connector pins. The connector exercises only lateral pressure on the pins preventing damage due to vertical forces. The connector consists of an insulating rectangular frame (1) which has shallow slots on the inside faces of the long sides matching the spacing of the integrated circuit pins. A central rectangular rod (2) runs along the long axis of the frame and holds in position two deformable insulating blocks (3) having ridges along one side matching the frame slots. The inside face of the block has a shallow triangular profile, the triangular peaks being cut-away to form arcs (9). The centre rod has semicircular ridges (8) which bear on and snap into the side block arcs, forcing them against the integration circuit pins (5) inserted in the frame slots.
