Abstract

The electrical control is for gas fired ovens. Firing of the oven is controlled by an operator who has to maintain a button operated switch in the closed position for fifteen seconds before the gas valve will open. Once the required temp. at the burner is signalled from a thermocouple the button circuit controlling the gas valve is maintained closed automatically. Each burner and grill has a separate thermocouple connected in parallel with the button which in one switch position delivers current to a magnetic circuit which maintains the button contacts closed. The switch is mechanically linked to a second contact pair which controls the delay circuit supply. Further switches control oven lighting, sequencing operations etc.
